Uploading Audio Assets to the Asset Stores
Getting started can feel daunting if you are a music composer or sound designer unfamiliar with game engines like Unity and Unreal. As requested by Christopher in our previous blog post about if selling audio assets on the asset stores is profitable, we decided to do a step-by-step walkthrough video on how to upload audio assets on Unity Asset Store and Unreal Engine Marketplace. I remember it took me some time to figure out how to use the game engines and upload assets to the store.
On the Unity game engine, although it is very straightforward once you figure it out, there were no posts or videos online on uploading assets to the store until February 2021 (See the video link below).
The Unreal game engine, on the other hand, requires way more time and effort to upload files than Unity. We hope these videos will help make things more straightforward for you! Alright! Let’s get started! 🙂
Unity Asset Store
Here's the latest upload tutorial video by Unity.
★ Do note that you are not allowed to add links that direct to other other stores, including your own.
★ If you are just uploading audio assets without scripts or codes like us, we don't need to care about the render pipeline. I don't select any of them and for the package dependencies, just select 'No'.

We used to need to enter codes on the product's metadata to get it to look how we want it to look like. Now it's like a regular blog post with the option to Bold (B), Italics (I), hyperlink and even bullet points! How awesome is that!

Unreal Engine Marketplace
We are using Unreal Engine Version 4.17.2 in the video.
Do use the shortcut keys for renaming!
Mac shortcut: [ Fn ] +[ F2 ]
Windows: It should be the [ F2 ] key as well! Apologies as I am not sure about this.
*Audio files have to be in 44.1khz and 16-bit!
After you are done renaming your files, delete the Folders [Intermediate] and [Saved] and also under [Content] Folder, delete [Collectors] and [Developers].
