Frequently-Asked-Questions

What happens if I cancel or don't renew my subscription? Do I need to take my projects down?

No. You don't need to take down projects released while your subscription was active. Those projects remain licensed permanently, even after your subscription ends, and can continue using the WOW Sound tracks already included in them.

For example:

  • Subscription active:
You release Version 1.0 of your game using WOW Sound audio → Version 1.0 remains licensed.

  • Subscription cancelled:
Version 1.0 remains online and can continue using the WOW Sound audio already included in it.

  • Later, after cancellation:
You release a new dungeon or update to your game without adding any new WOW Sound tracks → this is fine. You can continue using the WOW Sound tracks already licensed in your existing project.

However, if you use a WOW Sound track in the new dungeon or update that was not already used in the released version — even if you downloaded that track during a previous subscription — you need an active subscription or a separate purchase for that track. This also applies to other new content such as new levels, quests, maps, events, expansions, or DLC.

Can I continue using the tracks after I cancel?

No, once your subscription ends, your license to use tracks downloaded through the subscription also ends.

The key distinction is between downloading a track and using it in something you released.
Downloading a track under an active subscription does not, by itself, lock in a permanent license for that track.

The license attaches to the tracks that are actually incorporated into a version of your game you released while subscribed.

For example:

  • If you download 10 tracks during your subscription but only use 5 of them in the released version, only those 5 are permanently licensed for that release.
  • The other 5 remain downloaded on your computer, but you haven't used them in anything yet, so no permanent license has attached to them.
  • If you cancel and later want to use any of those other 5 in a new update, new content, or anywhere else, you would need an active subscription or a separate purchase at that time, just as if you'd never downloaded them.

Can I cancel whenever?

Yes! You can cancel your subscription anytime under your 'My Subscription' in your SourceAudio dashboard.

How many audio tracks can I download?

With a Subscription (Creator, Pro, or Business Plan), you can download up to 49 tracks per month.
Each main track, including all of its variations, counts as 1 download/credit.
All variations are included with the track and can be downloaded from your license history.

  • For example, MTG Bounce – Battle FULL Loop includes 7 submixes, but counts as 1 download/credit, not 8.

  • Unused downloads/credits roll over with subscription plans, so you can save them for future months.

How do I download tracks with a subscription?

  2. Select Credits as the licensing option and add the tracks to your cart.
  3. Open your cart and click Redeem Credit.
  4. After redemption, you'll be taken to My Licenses, where you can download your tracks, alternate versions, and invoices.

What are the restrictions on the Creator Subscription plan?

The Creator Plan is for solo creators earning under $100K per year, for personal projects or one-man freelance work with clients (excluding TV/broadcast rights).

Which plan allows me to license music for videos I am making for a client?

Both the Pro and Business Plans support client projects. The Creator Plan is for solo creators working on personal projects only, not client work.

I need to make a video for both online and broadcast. May I use the Business plan for my video?

No, our Business Plan is strictly for video games, web, apps, podcasts, and social corporate content.

Broadcast or paid streaming rights (e.g., Netflix, Hulu, Disney+) aren’t included. For those, please purchase a Legendary Music License.

Is the whole catalog under the subscription plan?

Yes! All music tracks and sound effects are included in all subscription plans.
