Can I use WOW Sound effects in commercial games?
- Pay-per-track: All Common, Rare, and Legendary licenses allow permanent use. Common license is limited to video games and related content only, Rare can be used in any content, and Legendary allows up to 5 users.
- Subscription plans: Usage is valid only while your Creator, Pro, or Business subscription is active.
Are WOW Sound effects royalty-free?
Yes. Pay-per-track sounds are royalty-free for lifetime use under their respective license and may be used in unlimited projects. Subscription sounds are royalty-free only during the period in which your subscription is active.
Why are music and sound effect licenses priced differently if they share the same tier names?
Although our music and sound effects use the same license tier names (Common, Rare, and Legendary), their pricing and usage terms differ.
Music licensing typically involves higher production costs and additional copyright considerations, while sound effects generally have fewer complexities. As a result, costs and limitations may vary between music and sound effects.
Do WOW Sound effects work with Unity, Unreal Engine, or other game engines?
All sounds are provided in high-quality WAV format, with MP3 versions available exclusively on the SourceAudio platform. WAV files (and OGG via Sellfy, where applicable) are recommended for professional implementation and seamless looping. The sounds are fully compatible with Unity, Unreal Engine, FMOD, Wwise, and other popular game engines.
Please note that MP3 files are not recommended for seamless looping, as compression may prevent perfectly smooth loop points.
Can I use these sounds in videos, streams, or VTuber content?
- Pay-per-track Rare or Legendary: Yes, for any content.
- Pay-per-track Common: Only for video games and related content.
- Subscription plans: Usage is allowed only while your subscription is active.
Can I modify or edit the sound effects for my game?
Yes. You may edit, trim, layer, or process the sound effects to fit your project’s needs. However, the original copyright remains with WOW Sound, and the sounds—whether modified or not—may not be resold, redistributed, or shared as standalone assets.
